Duchifat Battalion (94)
גדוד דוכיפת (94)
94th "Duchifat" Battalion (Kfir Brigade)
Duchifat ('Hoopoe') was raised in 1984 as a dedicated anti-tank unit (Yachnat 94) — named after the earlier Sayeret Duchifat — on the back of the proven success of the 409th reserve anti-tank brigade in the First Lebanon War (Operation Peace for Galilee). Its first commander was Zion Sapir. Recruits trained as infantry before specializing in anti-tank warfare, navigation, and advanced infantry skills, and the unit's professional standard was high. It officially gained full battalion establishment only in 1990. Today Duchifat (Battalion 94) is an infantry battalion of the Kfir Brigade.
